The Little Prince at Montecasino

Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince is currently a set work at schools.  There are several productions thereof on the boards either now or in the near future.

Elizma Badenhorst’s adaptation of this simple yet profound tale is a mini musical scored by Wessel Odendaal and directed by Elizma Badenhorst.

The Little Prince is a magical production mixing puppetry of various kinds with adult actors and a pleasant musical rendition that doesn’t spoil the magic of a book which delights adults even more than it pleases children.

I was enchanted throughout and I am difficult to please when it comes to messing with books I regard as iconic.  This one loses none of the magic in translation from page to stage.

It is on at the Studio Theatre, Montecasino from 25 October to 25 November 2018.
