Tyres and Braaiers, on SABC 3 every Wednesday night at 20h30 from 5th April 2017, will follow Comedian Nik Rabinowitz and Chef Hezron Louw as they tour our beautiful country in search of the most unique, interesting and scenic braai experiences South Africa has to offer.
Each week the dynamic duo has tons of fun travelling to corners of the country in a different weird and wonderful vehicle, from a vintage fire truck to a home built car. They’ll meet a new group of braaiers, savour their braai specialties and enjoy a different Mzansi cultural experience.
Tyres and Braaiers is produced by Urban Brew Studios. Director Frankie Opperman says, “From Soweto to the Karoo, Tyres and Braaiers will uncover new flavours and recipes each week. But it is more than just a conventional cooking show. It is laidback look at our country and its people. We also make stops at interesting locations like the Cape’s wine farms and surfing lessons in Durban.”
Chef Hezron Louw, from Top Chef South Africa fame and owner of street food company Sumting Fresh, says, “Nik and I are having the best time bonding over unique cars, amazing places and the incredible characters that make up our nation. The padkos, cocktails and braais aren’t half bad either.”
Tyres and Braaiers air every Wednesday evening on SABC 3, premiering 05 April, 2017. Join us as we celebrate South Africa’s favourite past time in a different way each week on SABC 3 “The Stage Is Yours”.
