A dazzling night, a glittering ball, something wonderful is sure to happen when the ultimate fairytale – Joburg Ballet’s production of Cinderella – returns to Joburg Theatre for just ten performances from Friday, 30 September to Sunday, 9 October.

Choreographed by Joburg Ballet’s artistic director Iain MacDonald and given its world premiere in 2013, Cinderella waltzes across the stage with Johann Strauss’s champagne-infused melodies providing the perfect musical setting for this ultimate rags-to-riches tale. Andrew Botha’s glittering designs frame the action and the full company lights up the theatre in a family-friendly production full of charm and magic.

Cinderella has always been one of the company’s most popular ballets,” said MacDonald. “Strauss composed some of the most enchanting, best loved and memorable classical music ever written and Cinderella, his only ballet score, is no exception. In October we’ll be moving into summer and Christmas will be just around the corner, making Cinderella the perfect ballet for the run up to the holiday season.”

Booking is open via Joburg Theatre box office on 0861 670 670 or online at Standard tickets range from R180 to R450, there’s a 50% discount on all seats for opening night on Friday, 30 September at 19:30 and an R80 ticket price throughout the house for two 11:00 performances on Tuesday, 4 and Wednesday, 5 October.
