Joburg Ballet’s new CEO, Esther Nasser

On 1 August 2016, one year after Dirk Badenhorst was suspended as CEO of Joburg Ballet, a new CEO, Esther Nasser, will take the helm of Joburg Ballet.

South African born and educated, Nasser is no newcomer on the block.  Over the years she has won awards as a choreographer, director and producer, judged dance competitions, taught dance and movement at universities and technikons, managed companies for one off productions, including television productions, and large national and other events,  run the Pact Dance Company, the State Theatre Dance Company, the Jozi Dance Company, the Tswane Dance Theatre and Mzansi Productions.

Nasser has an impressive track record with transformation in both dance and theatre, and has won the Gauteng Achievement Community/Outreach Award in 1999.

Her skills, talent and experience should assist Joburg Ballet to continue to grow and thrive in these very difficult economic times.

I extend my personal congratulations to Esther Nasser and to Joburg Ballet on this appointment and look forward to future growth and development of the company as well as her mentorship of individual dancers, something for which Nasser is renowned throughout the industry.
