Amy, UK documentary

The #EuroFilmFestSA is being held from 06 t0 15 May 2016 at Cinema Noveau complexes.  The media previewed one of these movies, the UK documentary, Amy.

Amy movie nominated for an Oscar

Amy, the UK documentary, won the documentary category at the recent Academy Awards.

The movie deals with the life and death of British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse.  Directed by Asif Kapadia, Amy is not an easy movie to watch.  It deals with her substance abuse problem, which together with her bulimia, led to her death at the tender age of 27 on 23 July 2011.

In this heartbreaking movie we learn a great deal about people with substance abuse problems, as well as those closest to them.

Amy has won a great many awards, and it is the highest-grossing British documentary of all time.  It is definitely worth seeing at the forthcoming European Film Festival.  Do not miss this one
