The Dressmaker

I am not suprised that the Australian movie, The Dressmaker, directed by Jocelyn Moohouse, based on a book by the same name written by Rosalie Ham won all the awards it has so far

The movie is about revenge and stars Kate Winslet as Myrtle “Tilly’ Dunnage, a very talented dressmaker who returns to the small Australian town of her origin.  Here she explores the past she can’t remember and the present.  The acting is excellent, the story gripping, the costumes magnificent and the entertainment value is high.

Excellent!  Not easy viewing and not suitable for children.
