Why is the City of Johannesburg not doing anything for International Museum Day?

Today, 18 May, is International Museum Day.

I tried to find a programme at one of Joburg’s many museums, but if there is one, it is a completely successful secret.

Traditionally in most parts of the world, International Museum Day is a day when free entrance is granted to museums so that everyone can afford to attend at least once a year.

Johannesburg is supposed to be a World Class African City.  What are we doing to celebrate International Museum Day?  (And can we know about in advance next year, please?)
