What I wish I could see today at the NAF – Fishers of Hope

Fishers of Hope is a work by acclaimed director/writer Lara Foot, assisted by Mncedisi Shabangu.  This talented woman has already produced works like Tshepang, Karoo Moose and Solomon and Marion.  Each of these plays has been a masterpiece of theatrical art designed to show the crippled psyche of this country in a way which grips the heart and mind and holds tight until the message is seared into the soul.

This new work is researched by independent researchers, Nina Swart and Masai warrior Miyere Miyandazi, and looks at life and greed and exploitation of nature and of women and love and hope.

I understand that it will eventually come to Johannesburg … and I can’t wait.

Fishers of Hope is showing at the Graeme College Theatre on Thursday 3 July at 20:00, Friday 4 July at 14:00 and 20:00 and Saturday 5 July at 14:00 and 20:00.
