Peter Bruns plays a fabulous recital for JMS

Peter Bruns, cello, and Annagret Kuttner, piano, joined up again to play a concert for the Johannesburg Musical Society in February 2014. They are regular artists playing for the JMS and they always play to an appreciative audience.

Peter Bruns is recognised as one of Germany’s leading cellists and he and Annagret Kuttner play exceptionally well together. The programme they played featured Schumann’s Adagio & Allegro, Op 70, Chopin’s Sonato for Cello and Piano, Op 65 and Brahms’ Cello Sonata No 2 in F Major, Op 99. It was this latter piece which was the most outstanding piece of the evening. The duet was magical and the performers held the audience in the palms of their hands.

The next two JMS concerts feature Ching-Yun Hu (Piano) on Saturday 12 April and another JMS favourite, Antonio Pompa-Baldi (piano) on Saturday 17 May 2014. Both concerts are at the Linder Auditorium at 20:00.
