First 2014 season for Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra

The first of four symphony seasons have been announced for 2014. It is a five week season unless one futher concert is to be announced later. Funding is already in place for most of the seasons this year so there is a very real hope that this will all pan out well. There have been no further announcements about what is happening with the business rescue plans, but things seem to be moving along in that regard. Two of the soloists, Christopher Duigan on piano and Zanta Hofmeyr on violin, are top South African musicians, and it is good to see then both on the programme as the slow payment of soloists and conductors has been a problem for many of the regulars in the recent past.
